Akita 2025
The Akita 2025 is the new signature model for Mark Mangarin, and it's almost as good as he is.
Mark is your favorite player's favorite player. His trick construction is always unique and boundary breaking, and his work with the Scales Collective consistently pushes modern technical yoyoing forward in a way that is inspiring and difficult to keep up with. We knew that a signature return top for him had to be incredible, but with his unique style we had to bridge the gap between comfy Caribou-style and raw performance.
For this second iteration of the Akita, we turned to our friends at SUS YOYO MECHANICS in Japan and they delivered a true reimagining. The hub area is organic and streamlined, reducing center weight and offering a sleek new look. The steel weight rings have been moved from internal to external to increase spin time and stability, and have a blasted finish to keep friction to a minimum when the yoyo touches your hands. The rim profile narrowed slightly but remains comfortable, and the gap profile has been narrowed out to further push weight to the rims and improve horizontal play. Every millimeter of the new Akita has been reconsidered to optimize play while keeping a comfortable feel in the hand.
Mark loves it, and that's all the endorsement we need. We hope you love it too.
Each Akita ships with a sticker and a limited edition hard enamel pin.
